EARLY YEARS / PRIMARY TEACHER

John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School is seeking enthusiastic, committed and motivated full time Early Childhood and Primary teachers to join our team. John Pujajangka-Piyirn Catholic School is located in the remote Aboriginal Community of Mulan Community in the East Kimberley, approximately 250km from Halls Creek. Presently our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 7 with approximately 20 enrolments.

Our school vision is for family, school and community to walk side by side with a shared responsibility to grow up strong future leaders and happy young people in Walmajarri (culture), Ngarpu(Catholic) and School ways. We set high expectations and believe in the strength of quality relationships. We are committed to whole-school approaches to Literacy and Numeracy and have an integrated approach to all other curriculum learning areas. Our Aboriginal Teachers and local community assist with embedding cultural perspectives and two-way learning.

Early career teachers are supported through the CEWA Early Career Teacher programme. Staff housing and the CEWA Remote Area Package is applicable.

Selection Criteria:
- Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education
- Commitment to working as a member of a team, building a Catholic school community and a willingness to engage with parents/carers, wider community and parish
- Strong pedagogical skills with a flexible collaborative, student-centred approach
- An openness to two-way learning
- Demonstrate application of data driven teaching and learning
- Demonstrate the ability to differentiate planning, teaching and learning that enhances the individual needs of students
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Be an organised staff member who shows initiative, flexibility and displays a positive outlook
- Demonstrates a high level of behaviour management skills and strategies
- Knowledge of trauma informed practice and EAL/D would be an advantage, however training will be provided

Qualifications Required:
- A relevant four-year tertiary qualification (Early years preferred)
- Accreditation to Teach Religious Education (or commitment to work towards/complete)
